Former Man United left-back, Patrice Evra, has shared an interesting insight into Cristiano Ronaldo’s career, revealing that the Portuguese star never considered joining Arsenal, despite having opportunities to move to some of the world’s top clubs.

According to Evra, Ronaldo had multiple offers, including from Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus, but Arsenal was always off the table.

As quoted by GOAL, speaking on RMC Sport, the former Manchester United left-back confirmed that Ronaldo was open to a move to PSG before his switch to Juventus in 2018.

“Has Cristiano ever wanted to come to PSG? Yes. There was Paris, Arsenal… That was before he signed for Juventus (in 2018). He had Chelsea, Juventus, Paris. He said he would never go to Arsenal,” Evra said. “He was interested in the (Parisian) project. You can criticize Cristiano, but he would have adapted.”

However, when it came to Arsenal, Ronaldo made it clear that he would never join the club. Evra added that he said he would never go to Arsenal, revealing that despite other options, the Gunners were never in the equation for Ronaldo.

Ronaldo’s career is nothing short of legendary, with the forward having played for some of the biggest names in football, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

Ronaldo’s career and adaptability

His success on the field speaks volumes, and regardless of his club choices, he will go down as one of the greatest players of all time.

Evra went on to highlight Ronaldo’s adaptability, noting that he would have fit in at any club, even PSG and that he continues to prove his worth in Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr.

Currently enjoying a mid-season break, Ronaldo will be back in action for Al Nassr in early 2025, continuing his career in the Middle East.

Despite turning down big clubs like Arsenal, Ronaldo’s legacy remains untouchable.
